I hate being stupid! What I mean by this is I can only read English, ha ha! Here's an example: I found a very cool photo showing a "foreign comic book ad" where they promote a special offer of a "Superhero Airplane" inside Nesquik Chocolate Milk Drink Mix. There were 4 planes to collect: Superman, Wonder Woman, Robin, & Batman! If I could only get 2 of these you know which ones they would be! I also like the actual product packaging too. I wish I had photos of the real thing, that would be cool. It's hard to tell but I also don't know if these were given away FREE inside the package or if they were a mail-away item where you had to collect points. It might say so in the ad but again, I am stupid, ha ha! The copyright information is too small to read but I'm guessing this was from the early 1980's, maybe 1981-82. If anyone knows the language or country please let me know. I'm gonna guess Argentina or Brazil & I'm pretty sure the language is Spanish.
Here is THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Trailer in Spanish. I think it's very cool to hear another language other than English. It's even kinda funny. OK, I have to admit that I do not speak any Spanish but it is a very beautiful language.
One of the types of Batman Toys I personally like are the "Foreign Toys". They're usually very very wacky!! Plus, it's neat to see a foreign language on them (I think it's great that the character is loved all over the world ). Yeah, I'm kinda weird, ha ha! Anyway, here's some very cool examples: The 1st photo is a "Bootleg" Inflatable-Toy of Batman. He looks kinda pretty with that bold red lipstick, don'tcha think? The 2nd picture is an extremely RARE Slot Car Race Set made by Polistil. I think it's from Italy or Poland. Either way the graphics are awesome! The weird thing is the Batmobile looks like the one from the 1989 Tim Burton movie but the graphics on the box of Batman & the logo are retro 1970's! The next 2 items are from our friends in Argentina. The 1st example is a plastic ring toss game that I have never seen before ( Thanks Paulo for sending that pic, appreciate that! ). The 2nd item is a small packaged puzzle. I think it's a carnival prize or something. It has some really nice graphics that look like they were swiped from Dick Giordano artwork. Whew! We just went around the world. OK, if any readers in "foreign lands" have some photos they would like to share then please send them in today. Thanks!
OK, This video is just surreal! It's kinda fun to watch even though I can't understand one single word, ha ha! It's all in Spanish & is a TV Comedy sketch/parody of a convention of Batman characters. Later, an English-speaking Superman comes by & starts a fight.....weird!
Shown in the photos up above are some examples of foreign Batman comic books that are in different languages. They are Spanish ( Argentina ), Italian ( Rome ), & Portuguese. We really love these kind of comics because they're really RARE & very unusual. Speaking of foreign languages, the BAT-BLOG uses a "Google Translator" to alter this website from English to 8 different languages. Just click on one of the FLAGS you see on the very top right-hand side of the blog. This will translate the page into Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, & Korean.
For quite awhile I've had this great photo of some Spanish Batman Comic Book Covers from Mexico that a friend had sent. He knows I'm completely wacky for the "Foreign Bat-Items".
