New Batman Toy: HARLEY QUINN Lego Figure

Just a quick post to let Batman Lego Fans know that in the next wave of Batman Play Sets they're gonna make a special Harley Quinn figure & vehicle play set. Isn't she cute?! I like her HUGE mallet & she comes with a gun too. She will get a Bank Truck Van & Batman will have a Bat-Cycle...cool! Plus, the reports I've been reading is that Lego is gonna keep the characters & playsets all "Comic Book Batman" related & will not be doing any that tie into the Dark Knight movie. That's cool. I like the "regular Batman" the best anyway & don't worry, there will be tons of TDK merchandise to buy, believe me, ha ha!

DC BATTLEAGUE Batman Action Figures Game By MATTEL

Whatever happened to the new line of toys called DC BATTLEAGUE?? I just got done researching on the internet for quite awhile & have found no answers. A few people have said they have spotted them at Toys-R-Us & even seen them on eBay but I checked both sites & nothing! There's not even any reports of these figures being canceled by Mattel, very weird! If ANYONE has some information about this please let me know. For people who have not heard of them yet Mattel plans on having a new game with mini-figures ( not tiny like Heroclix ) of many of the DC Comics Superheroes. There's suppose to be a ton of Batman characters like Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, etc...Mattel presented these at the 2007 Toy Fair & they were should have been released already, like last July. These figures look really incredible & it woud be a total shame if they were not put out....strange!

Concept Art: Custom BATMAN FIGURE Urban Toy Designs

I found a very talented guy on MySpace who did some very cool concept art designs for a Batman Vinyl Urban Toy idea. He had a few variations & for this article I picked my 2 favorites. The left one is the Classic Blue, Yellow, & Grey suit ( I like this one best ). The one on the right is the more modern black & dark-grey version...cool! Please leave a comment & let us know which one you prefer. His name is "TRE DEEZEE" & here's a link to his MySpace page. Check it out sometime because his art style is pretty cool.

CUSTOM TOYS : 1960's Batman TV Show Playset Figures

Our friend Don allowed us to use these cool photos of some amazing figures he has sculpted. ( Be sure to click on the small picture to see a larger, more detailed photo ). They are modeled after the characters in the 1966 Batman TV Show. He says they will be made into a mold & cast in plastic. These are sort of like those "Little Green Army Men", Marx Playset Figures, or really more like the figures in the Ideal Batman Playset, a classic 60's toy. So far there is Catwoman, Robin, Batman, The Penguin, Egghead, & King Tut. Wow! You never see any Egghead & King Tut figures, ha ha!

If you're interested, here's a web site where they plan to sell them.
Looks like they will also be painted with color.

Batman Designer Clothing: Hoodie & Action Figure Toy by BAPE

In the Underground Fashion Worlds of Europe & Japan a lot of young designers are really attaching themselves to the iconic image of Batman. I think, to them, he is an American Icon who represents both adventure & heroism but also has a lot of campy kitsch appeal. Here's one small example. A design company named BAPE ( Bathing Ape ) will release a Batman Hoodie Sweater this year for their new collection. It's done in the classic "Black & Gray colors" of Batman with a Bat-Symbol logo on the chest. The hood even has "bat-ears". Like most of the designer stuff it's extremely cool but priced where poor people like me can't buy it, ha ha. The retail price is around $440.00 US Dollars. But, the sweater also comes with a FREE Designer Toy Action Figure of Batman so that takes a little sting off it. Besides Batman they have also done Superman, Wonder Woman, & The Flash. If you're interested in buying one of these you can find it at a website called www.hypebeast.com. Tell 'em the Bat-Blog sent ya!

Argentina Batman Toys: Penguin & The Joker JACK Chocolate

A friend of ours from Brasil sent us this photo showing some older vintage 1970's Batman toys from Argentina. You can click on it for a way bigger photo. They are tiny figures of The Penguin (Pinglino) & The Joker (Quason) that were FREE premiums inside JACK Chocolates. Below the photo of those figures is an ad from a comic book showing all 55 figures to collect. There are more Batman-related ones: The Batmobile (Batmovil), Batgirl, Batman, Robin, Riddler (Acertlio), & Catwoman (Catubela).

1966 BATMAN GUMBALL MACHINE CHARMS / FIGURES

Late tonight I got an e-mail from a guy named Don who wrote,

"Hi, I've been reading your blogs and I think they're great! I'm sending you a picture of a rare set of Batman Gumball Charms that took me almost 41 years to find. They are tiny - a little over an inch in length - soft plastic figures of Batman, Robin, Joker and Penguin that attached to rings, and were sold in penny bubblegum machines in 1966. The charms were made by Samson Product. If you would like to read the whole story about these charms you will find it on my very humble blog which I will give you the address below. Feel free to use this picture on you blog if you would like - it would be an honor to have something of mine appear there. Have a Great Day! Don"
