OK, I'm not quite sure what the deal is here but at last year's 2007 TOY FAIR Corgi was showing off their new line of Batman 1:43 Scale Batmobile & Bat-Vehicles that came with a special statue & they're not being released until now. Well, they were worth the wait! Here are the 1st six sets of Corgi Cars with the Statue Figures. We have Golden Age Batman with Red Roadster, Joker with the Jokermobile, Killer Moth, Two-Face, & 2 more Batman figures: a 1960's version & a modern-day one...sweet! Now, I'm really loving these figures/statues. I mean, when was the last time you saw Killermoth? Ha Ha! Be sure to click on the image above for a larger, more detailed, photo! Also, Please comment on your thoughts about these sweet new figures.

My friend Adam sent me a link the other day to a website where they held a contest for "Best Home-Made Superhero Costumes". It was called FIGHTS, FLIGHTS, & TIGHTS. The idea was to not do an exact replica of an actual costume but to make your own variation, your own style. There were quite a bit of entries & all of them were actually really good. The winner was a cute girl in a retro-style Supergirl outfit. The photos I'm showing here are a few that were "Batman" related. I love when people get creative so I thought this would be a neat post to do. The contest was held at a website called PROJECT ROOFTOP. The cool thing was that the prizes were very high-quality drawings of the winners wearing their costumes done by different comic book-style artists who are also VERY talented. The last picture is an example of the girl in the top photo. To see the whole event click here.

A friend of mine sent me this link to an artist who, very recently, was totally inspired to make some artwork based on The DARK KNIGHT Batman movie. I gotta agree with my friend that his work is pretty good! I mean, it's cool when people are creative about their appreciation of the Batman character. Anyway, he's done some very neat graphics of Batman ( Christian Bale ), Two-Face ( Aaron Eckhart ), & The Joker ( Heath Ledger ). The artist's name is Josh but he goes by the nickname "Sonic1002"...well done Josh! Here's a link if ya wanna check out more of his drawings & photo manipulations. http://sonic1002.deviantart.com/galleryHELP SPREAD THE WORD!

Something I've been trying to learn a little bit about & then share here is a cool thing called Video Game MODS. Basically people have learned how to create 3D characters that they can then use to replace "people" & vehicles in video games. Here are some examples. Up above is a group of amazing looking MOD "people" who are Batman-related characters. ( Click the small picture to reveal a HUGE photo )! There's Robin, Batgirl, Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Riddler, and of course, Batman ( 4 versions )! The Batman versions include: Modern Day, Beyond, Movie, & my favorite, Adam West! Also shown are some VEHICLE MODS of the Batmobiles ( many versions ), Bat-Jet, Bat-Plane, Bat-Bikes, Bat-Boat, & Bat-Copters. My top 2 favorite vehicles here are the Retro 30's Batmobile & the 1966 TV Show Batcopter ...Sweet! Anyways, you take these mods & replace the code in your video game & then this is what appears. I've seen video where people have done this & it's crazy! It's like a whole new game & looks really really cool. Now, a friend to the Bat-Blog sent us a link that is to a MODS Message Board for the people who are really into this. If you'd like more information I suggest going there. Anybody else who's into this please send me more info to share, thanks.

Here's a really cool picture I found on the web awhile back. It's from a company named Spyda Creations & they specialize in Resin Model Kits. Here's one that is an art bust of TWO-FACE. I forget the URL but a quick Google search should get their web page. They're very well known company in the resin model kit community.
